The symbol of Spic Macay is the "Eye", which represents the third eye of Lord Shiva. The Hindu mythology has it that once, Parvati, the daughter of King of mountains and the consort of Shiva, playfully covered Lord Shiva’s eyes without realizing the consequences. The blindfolding of the God immersed the world into the dark abyss of ignorance. However, the benevolent God quickly reversed the precarious situation by opening his third eye, and gracing the universe with the radiance of knowledge and wisdom. This myth signifies that in order to realize "the self", one has to close his eyes to the world filled with the darkness of ignorance and awaken the spiritual light from within.
